Heightmap
Depth Map Maker — photos into printable relief
Heightmap turns any photo into a clean, printable height map — a 16-bit grayscale image where brightness equals height. Feed it to a UV printer, laser engraver, CNC router or 3D printer to produce tactile relief from a single image. An on-device depth model does the estimating, so nothing leaves your Mac.
Requires macOS 15 or later.
Why Heightmap?
Three core arguments
On-device depth
An on-device model estimates the relief from a single photo — nothing leaves your Mac.
Shape the relief
Gamma, smoothing, detail and large-structure compression bring subjects forward and flatten the background.
Print-ready export
16-bit grayscale PNG or TIFF (white = highest), plus a JSON sidecar with height, base thickness, DPI and Z-layers.
