Frequently asked questions
- Does the app work without internet?
- Yes. Druckkosten runs fully offline on your Mac. No cloud, no account, no login.
- Is there a Windows or iPad version?
- Not at the moment. Druckkosten is a native macOS app for Macs with Apple silicon or Intel running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
- Which printer types are supported?
- All of them. You set up your printers yourself with cartridge price and ISO yield — whether colour laser, inkjet, UV print, sublimation or thermal transfer. The app calculates based on your numbers.
- How does margin enter the calculation?
- Every template has its own margin tier ladder. You define it per run length (e.g. 1–99 pieces → 40 %, 100–499 → 30 %, 500+ → 25 %) and the app picks the matching tier automatically.
- Which languages does the app speak?
- Thirteen languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Czech. Switch directly inside the app, no restart needed.
- What happens to my data?
- It stays local in the app’s own SwiftData database on your Mac. No trackers, no cloud sync, no telemetry. Back up via your usual Time Machine or iCloud Drive.
- Can I customise the quote layout?
- The PDF layout is fixed for now — clean and sober. Individual branding (logo, brand colours) will be an option in a future version.
