CameraView — Privacy Policy

CameraView does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All processing happens locally on your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs.

What data the app accesses

HomeKit cameras. CameraView reads your HomeKit camera configuration and streams live video directly from your cameras using Apple's HomeKit framework. HomeKit data never leaves your device through CameraView. Access is granted by you via the system HomeKit permission prompt and can be revoked at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → HomeKit.
App preferences. Your selected cameras, grid layout, and window position are stored locally on your Mac via the standard UserDefaults API. These preferences remain on your Mac and are not synced or transmitted by CameraView.

What the app does not do

No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
No advertising identifiers.
No third-party SDKs.
No accounts, sign-ups, or user identifiers.
No network requests to servers operated by the developer.

Network access

CameraView requires network access only to communicate with your HomeKit cameras (over your local network and, where applicable, via Apple's HomeKit relay). The app does not contact any servers operated by the developer or any third party.

Required-reason API usage

CameraView uses Apple's UserDefaults API to store the app's own preferences on your Mac. This is declared in the app's privacy manifest under reason code CA92.1 (read and write information owned by this app).

App Store privacy

In App Store Connect, CameraView is registered as Data Not Collected: no data is linked to the user, no data is used for tracking, and no data leaves the device.

Children

CameraView is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from any user.
